HT Life Groups

In 2022, as part of our Parish Renewal Program, we will be forming Holy Trinity Life Groups and we would love to have you join one.  We held an information evening in December 2021 and this review was written by Andrew who came along.

I went along last Monday night with my wife and passed the comment to her on the way that if this was going to be a super religious gathering then I was not going to be a part of it as that just wasn’t me. She convinced me to come along with an open mind and just try it as I might actually enjoy it. And enjoy it I definitely did!

20 Parishioners met in the back room of the Hall last Monday night where we literally broke bread together, then helped ourselves to a delicious smorgasbord dinner (thank you to the chefs) and chatted casually with those closest to where we were sitting.

Ross then explained the purpose of forming Life Groups such as the one we were enjoying on Monday night was to really get to know a group of people and form a strong ‘family like’ connection with them by meeting once a week / fortnight or month to catch up, perhaps sharing a meal together, or a cup of tea, or even at the Pub (and I liked the sound of that one!) chatting casually, then discussing a short passage from the Bible for 5 or 10 minutes.

The passage we read and discussed on Monday was the same as for today’s sermon, about the baby inside Elizabeth’s womb leaping for joy when Mary arrived with Jesus in her womb. I’ve not read the bible much so it was really interesting to hear about the background to the story and discuss why Elizabeth’s baby was leaping around (because he would be John the Baptist foretelling the arrival of Jesus)

I really encourage you to join one of the Life Groups being set up as part of our Parish renewal program – a great way to meet new people you will soon know as more than casual acquaintances and a great way to get to know the Bible in a very casual setting.  Andrew.

Holy Trinity healing and prayer service

We want to help those in need in our community, so if there is anyone you know and love that is dealing with troubles or health issues, why not join us Tuesdays at 5.30pm as we pray to God who transforms lives.

During the current period of lockdown, we are gathering via Zoom for this service Tuesdays at 5.30pm.  All welcome.

Coffee and Craft Group

will recommence early February 2022 in the Church Hall.

banner with personWhatever your craft interest is - or even if you'd just like to pop in for a chat over a cup of coffee or tea - you're very welcome to bring it along to our church hall on Thursdays between 10am and 11.30am. No charge.

One of the Craft Group's activities in 2015 led by Penny (pictured right) was to create a stunning banner based on the Rose Window on the west wall of our church to celebrate our centenary. They laboured for many months, needleworking and quilting to recreate the intricate patterns and stained lighting effects of the window. The result is truly beautiful. So if you haven't seen it already, come on in and have a look on Sundays!
