Introducing Our Locum

The Rev's Ross Duncan and Deb Duncan celebrated their last service with Holy Trinity on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

The Rev'd Philip Higgins will be the Parish Locum working 2 days a week for Holy Trinity whilst we search for our new Vicar.

Philip wrote this in our weekly newsletter recently:

You might be interested to know a little about me – I am married to Margie and we have three adult sons. The first was born in my first curacy, the next in my second curacy and the third in my first parish as priest in charge. We then decided this was not a tradition to be followed.

My first parish as vicar was St Michael’s and St Luke’s Dandenong, after which we spent some time in East Africa with the Church Missionary Society. Back in Melbourne I was vicar of St James Glen Iris and then lastly All Souls Sandringham. You can see that my ministry in Melbourne has been in the southern region, although now Glen Iris is in the Marmingatha episcopate, whilst Dandenong and Sandringham, like Hampton, are in the Jumbunna Episcopate.

Margie and I travelled around a bit during our school days and people sometimes ask where our favourite spot has been. My wife has a good answer when she says, “It is not the place, but the people you meet along the way.” Very true. I’m glad to be in Hampton for a while.
