Weddings

Holy Trinity Hampton is a beautiful venue for a wedding. By marrying at Holy Trinity you add a spiritual dimension to your wedding, as well as receiving support and prayers from the wider church community.

Your wedding at Holy Trinity can blend ancient tradition with modern experience to reflect your story. Working with the vicar, you can plan your wedding service so that it reflects you as a couple and is memorable, meaningful and beautiful.

If you would like to explore the possibility of having your wedding at Holy Trinity, please get in touch with the Vicar Judith Atkinson on (03) 9598 1707 or visit one of our Sunday morning services and we can make a time to meet.

Testimonial

We loved having our wedding at Holy Trinity. The 100-year old church looked stunning with its fresh paint and the colourful historic windows. The Vicar helped us plan the service and get all the paperwork done on time. Most of all, she helped us ensure the ceremony had the solemnity we wanted but with our personal touches for friends and family to enjoy.

Thanks Holy Trinity!
Clara and Jack, Summer 2016.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please find below some answers to common questions about weddings at Holy Trinity.

What is the building like?

The church was built in 1929 and seats around 120 people. If you would like to take a closer look at the church, please contact us on the number above.
For weddings it is often decorated with bows, flowers and special church fabrics. Towards the back of church there is an area for small children (some wedding couples have found this very useful for guests coming with small children). There are restrooms available in the hall for guests to use.

Are there any requirements for getting married at Holy Trinity?

Yes, we do have a few important requirements:

  • We ask that the couple undertake an active part in preparing the marriage service.
  • We need to be sure the couple are eligible to marry and are able to supply full documentation of Birth Certificates, Australian Residency (if applicable), and any details concerning previous marriages.
  • We are required to make sure that a wedding at Holy Trinity takes place according to the rites of the Anglican Church of Australia.

How much does a wedding at Holy Trinity cost?

A wedding at Holy Trinity costs $1200 plus GST*. This cost includes:

  • Preparation, rehearsals and Documentation/Certificates
  • Organist
  • Flowers *
  • Verger fee. (A verger is a person who assists in the ordering of religious services.)
* Sometimes couples choose to provide their own flowers or musicians, and so the cost is amended to reflect these differences.

Where can I find further resources to help me think about my church wedding?

St. John’s Church in Toorak has some helpful information about weddings in the Anglican Church in Australia.
